Chattanooga State Volleyball Takes Close Match Over Visiting Cleveland State Wednesday, February 3, 2021
Cleveland State and Chattanooga State Volleyball’s first match of the 2020-21 season was a thriller, as the visitors fell in a tight five-set match at Chattanooga State 3-2.
The Lady Cougars came out strong, winning the first two sets 25-19 and 25-17. However, the Lady Tigers stormed back to defend their home floor, winning the next three sets 25-23, 25-21, and 15-11.
Chattanooga State travels to Walters State on Thursday for a 6:30 p.m. match.
Cleveland State will play their first home match of the season as they host Roane State in another conference matchup. First serve is set for Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
No. 13 Lee Men Win Over Auburn Montgomery 62-56 Wednesday, February 3, 2021 The No. 13 Lee men s basketball team withstood a late run by Auburn Montgomery to secure its eighth straight win, 62-56 on Tuesday evening. The Flames led by as many as 16 points with 15 minutes remaining in the contest before the Warhawks cut the deficit all the way to two at 49-47 off a Stanley Davis 3-pointer at the 9:34 mark. Both teams went scoreless over the next two minutes before Beyuan Hendricks ended the drought for the Flames with a crucial triple off a pass from Noah Boler. Junior Quay Kennedy once again stepped up in the clutch for Lee as he scored the final four points, two fouls shots and a breakway dunk to seal the victory.
