Chattanooga Boys Choir Receives $10,000 Music Has Value Grant Tuesday, December 22, 2020
Just over 15 years ago, Scott Borchetta opened the doors of a small office on Music Row for a start-up label he named Big Machine Records. With just a handful of employees and few artists, Big Machine put the pedal to the metal and created its own path to become one of the most successful independent record labels in the world, said officials. To celebrate the label’s historic 15-year successes, BMLG President/CEO Scott and his wife Sandi Borchetta, who is BMLG’s senior vice president of Creative, announced the launch of a grant fund for 501c3 non-profit music schools and organizations, awarding 15 recipients with $10,000 grants.
Chattanooga Boys Choir Releases Virtual Holiday Performance With Artistic Partners Tuesday, December 22, 2020
Following a challenging fall semester due to circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chattanooga Boys Choir and several community partners combined to create and release a production of choral and orchestral music and dance that they hope will brighten the holidays for area residents.
Due also to the closure of the historic Tivoli Theater, the choir was unable to present its annual Singing Christmas Tree performances, which would have been the 58th consecutive year of this widely celebrated holiday tradition.
They are proud to have partnered with the Chattanooga Choral Society for the Preservation of African-American Song, alumni of Ballet Tennessee, the Metropolitan Handbells, and the Baylor School Orchestra in this holiday collaboration. Join the Chattanooga Boys Choir for an evening of hope, joy, and sounds of the season. This virtual compilation features our talented choristers and wonderful community partners from the Metropolitan Handbells, the Baylor School Orchestra, the Chattanooga Choral Society for the Preservation of African-American Song, and Ballet Tennessee alumni.
This concert will premiere on the Chattanooga Boys Choir Facebook page at 7:00pm on Friday, December 18th, and will be available for viewing through December 25.
