PORTLAND, Ore. Oregon has reached settlements totaling more than $100,000 with four hotels that overcharged people during last year’s historic wildfires, state Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum said Thursday. More than 100 Oregon families will be reimbursed, according to Rosenblum.
Gov. Kate Brown, at Rosenblum’s request, declared an abnormal disruption of the market statewide on Sept. 9 in response to hearing complaints about steep prices as thousands of people sought lodging after being displaced by the dozens of fires burning in the state.
