The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is working with Linn County investigators and the Kansas Highway Patrol after a Garnett woman was killed in a vehicle crash.
Officials said a 42-year-old Parker man has been arrested for second degree murder after his mother’s car was struck twice on Keitel Road around 3 p.m. Tuesday. 70-year-old Charlotte Grimes of Garnett was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said it’s believed that the suspect was driving his pickup when he struck his mother’s car, then turned around and struck the vehicle a second time. The man left the scene on foot, and later returned to the area in a second vehicle. He was taken to a hospital in Overland Park and treated for minor injuries, and KBI agents arrested him later in the day. He was booked into the Bourbon County Jail.
