Transylvania county man charged with first degree murder continues. Richard oshields is accused of shooting and killing toby mathis in 2011. Holly news 13s Lauren Brigman is live outside the courthouse in brevard. Lauren, several people claim they saw oshields pull the trigger. Lauren yeah, witnesses say that oshields came into the rosman Dollar General store and began firing at mathis. Authorities say oshields shot him five times. Prosecutors are calling this a revenge killing. They say that oshields killed mathis as payback for his sons death. Mathis was charged with Involuntary Manslaughter for the death of oshields son joey months prior to the shooting. On friday, the jury heard from prosecution witnesses including the countys medical examiner at the time of the killing. He detailed a diagram of mathis wounds.
