Fosse Close, Blackburn A WOMAN attacked a police officer who roused her from a drunken sleep at a Covid-19 illegal house party. Blackburn magistrates heard everyone else left the gathering when asked by police but Ruth Scarlett McGraw reacted violently, kicking the officer repeatedly. McGraw, 30, of Rimington Close, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to assaulting an emergency worker. She was made subject to a community order for 12 months with 25 days rehabilitation and a curfew for 12 weeks between 8pm and 8am. She was ordered to pay £100 compensation, £85 costs and £95 victim surcharge. Diane Jackson, prosecuting, said police attended a gathering in Fosse Close, Blackburn, which was in breach of Covid-19 regulations.
