WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (WENY) Aspiring car technicians came out to Watkins Glen International on Friday morning to help kick off the 18th Annual Green Grand Prix.
An electric race car made history earlier this month after it received a battery swap during a pit stop. The swap itself took two minutes to accomplish, and it happened during a known sanctioned race (NASA rules). We are referring to the 25 Hours of Thunderhill event, which was shortened by fog to just over 17 hours of racing.
The Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicleâs first electric vehicle show â A âCurrentâ Event â drew about 200 people to the museum parking lot to view examples of electric vehicles throughout several eras.
âThere is, naturally, a lot of discussion in the world and news today about electric vehicles. There is a big misconception out there that electric vehicles are a relatively new concept,â said Museum Executive Director Kendra Cook. âThe truth is that electric cars have been around as long as gasoline cars and their history is just as interesting and surprising.â
The Boyertown Museum is housed in one of the former Boyertown Auto Body Works factory buildings.
