income taxes. so let s be fair. they don t have the money, they have no money. the problem with the irs and more agents. what s wrong with the irs and more agents it s not just that they re enforcing the law, now they have to go after individuals and make sure they have some kind of health care coverage. that s insane. these guys are experts this taxes. that s the law. that s not law. not whether you have a healths insurance policy or not. that s the law. not my favorite thing either. and the congress passed the law and let me ask this serious question of charlie. a study in 2005, by the irs, and 46,000 returns, they concluded there was a tax gap of 300 billion dollars between what they did collect and what they should have collected. what s wrong with going after 300 billion dollars when we ve got a massive deficit, charlie? nothing. i m not saying bad about the irs. (laughter) i have no problems with the folks at the irs. and ask ben one question. goons what
when you were audited were they nice to you? my accountant feels that part of that 100 some billion, i could say my accountant was very nice to me. okay. let me return the question, charlie gas pr gasper reno. i m a reason handed person if i m audited i m sure i ll be nice to them as they are to me. stuart: final word from gerri. the irs can t enforce health care. it s an unworkable idea and we have to find norway to do this. my idea, start off. who cares about the laws of the land gerri. stuart: i think that adam got the last word there. two years, 700 billion bucks, almost 2 million jobs lost. so much for stimulus. now the president is calling for another 556 billion dollars to clean up america s roads and fix our job mess.
this recovery and this economy could now turn around, stop creating jobs. do you think that 9% is bad it could go right back up stuart: i want to get back to the gas price, 3.15 or thereabouts for regular unleaded across the country. that seems like an awfully high price to me and got to tell you, everybody, there s a ringing echo from iran, 1979. or am i just crazy, gerri. you re not crazy. i think there s a ringing being could he. we ve seen this movie before we know how it ends with long gas lines and it could be devastating for the economy. we ve got to make sure that we re doing the right thing on the ground over there. making all the right statements. stuart: got that right. our thanks to charlie and gerri. up next, the donald getting mad and telling me america is getting a beat down. what it really does is show how the lack of respect that this country has. when you look at what s happening all over the world and we re a whipping post for the world. stuart: well, trump

neil: i don t think that s what i said but sure i ll go with that. adam: [laughter] anyway, i think the political point that charlie, that everybody is missing and cuban is making we know cuban can t stand donald trump is that people are going to be disappointed if they think oh, let s lower this tax rate, that s going to solve everything and excuse me charlie got this right. it s no panacea, and people will be disappointed if they re hanging their hat on this. there are way more important things. adam that s not the argument he made. that s the problem. adam: i agree. neil: ben stein what do you think of this back and forth the corporate portion for which you were in favor not so much the individual stuff but that diminishing expectations here for that and that if companies don t hire more workers or investment plant and equipment you could make an argument that better than full
