‘Stuffing Their Mouths with Gold’ Selling the Biden/Yellen Tax Cartel Andrew Stuttaford © Kevin Lamarque/Reuters President Joe Biden receives an economic briefing with Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen in the Oval Office at the White House in Washington, D.C., January 29, 2021.
At the time of the establishment of Britain’s National Health Service, Aneurin Bevan, Labour’s Health Minister, faced serious opposition from, among others, top doctors unenthusiastic at the prospect of having to rely solely on the state for their income, a potentially dangerous challenge to the nascent NHS. Having already met Barnsley in the Carabao Cup earlier in this campaign, Chelsea’s FA Cup visit to Oakwell this week marks the 12th time we have faced a team in both domestic cup competitions in the same season.
Our emphatic 6-0 win over the Tykes at Stamford Bridge last September means we could complete a seasonal cup double against the Championship side, a feat we have managed four times previously. No team has managed to do the double against the Blues as we have split wins with our opponents in the other seven matches.
The first of those double-dip cup ties came over half a century ago when we clashed with Leeds United no fewer than six times in the 1969/70 season. The Yorkshire side beat us in both league games as they finished runners-up in Division One, two points ahead of the third-placed Blues, but we had our revenge in our cup meetings.
