Gunfire inside Bessemer hotel room leaves 1 teen dead Updated Apr 11, 2021; Posted Apr 11, 2021 Facebook Share Shots rang out inside a Bessemer hotel late Saturday night, leaving one male dead. The shooting happened at 11:06 p.m. at the Comfort Inn on Academy Lane. Sgt. Charlie Burton said a large gathering was being held inside one of the rooms when an argument erupted between the victim and several other people. Several shots were fired inside the second-floor room and the 18-year-old victim was struck. He was pronounced dead on the scene. No one else was injured. Burton said the nature of the dispute has not yet been determined. Several witnesses are being questioned but a suspect has not yet been identified.
