Many visitors to Grand County bring recreational-off road vehicles with them. Moab city officials say while they want people to enjoy their time in the community, the negative effects UTVs can have on residents must be accounted for.
“I would like to work with users and impress upon them how impacted our residents are, Tawny Knuteson-Boyd said. And we don’t hate them, we want them to come and enjoy. We just want our town respected and our residents respected.”
Knuteson-Boyd is a member of the Moab City Council and is working alongside the council and the Grand County Commision to find better solutions for off-highway vehicle problems in the area.
AN AUTHOR from Worcester who was the county s poet laureate has a new collection of work being published. Lore: Flowers, Folklore, and Footnotes is the collection that bloomed from Dr Charley Barnes’ year as Worcestershire Poet Laureate, 2019-2020. During her time in the role, Charley borrowed from folkloric stories around the county to inform her writing, while also using tales of plantlore and flowerlore, to look at the histories of names, medicines and more. For every poem that holds a story, Charley has marked it with a footnote to enrich readers’ experiences by sharing her own inspiration. Lore will be published on February 14, by Black Pear Press, and Charley plans to hold a digital launch (via Zoom) to mark the occasion.

More vaccination updates came from Gov. Spencer Cox during a press conference on Thursday.
“We are assembling a small army of trained volunteers to help them, Cox said. We told them wherever their constraints, any problems you have, let us know. If you need more money, we will write the check. If you need more personnel, we will find personnel for you. If you need technical support, we will get you that technical support.”
Cox said Utah vaccine efforts are going well, thanks to the state’s 13 local health departments.
He said the state has received the second doses for those who have been vaccinated, and is asking everyone who has appointments for the second dose to keep them.
