Nueces County reappoints port commissioners, former member asked to be considered 6 Investigates: Port of CC Authority Commissioner Applicants and last updated 2020-12-17 15:42:09-05 CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Nueces County commissioners Wednesday denied the application of former Port of Corpus Christi Commission member Wayne Squires to be reappointed. Instead, they voted to re-appoint both incumbents vying for two seats up for renewal. It has been more than a year since port commission member Wayne Squires resigned after admitting he falsified his résumé. In his application more than five years ago, Squires stated that he had graduated from Penn State University. In fact, he attended PSU for six years, but never earned a degree.
