Duke University Supreme Court s discuss the Supreme Court and reconstruction era rise. This event is part of a series on the Supreme Court and reconstruction hosted by the Supreme Court Historical Society. [applause] sometimes i think that the problem with introductions of me is that before i got this job, i couldnt keep a job. [laughter] thank you very much for having me here. I just want to express my great appreciation for the Supreme Court Historical Society and for all of the rest of the associates here who do so much for the court. This year is the 2015 leon silverman a lecturer a silverman lecture series. Lecture series like these are an important part of what goes on at the court. Parthey are only a small of what the Supreme Court Historical Society does. The Supreme Court Historical Society puts out a regular journal, it collects items relating to the courts history, which really are all around the , a lot of the offices and the portraits are a result of the societys collectin
David in the Financial System. It is a Stock Exchange. They built an exchange that is owned by investors. The whole point of it is to create an environment where the investors are not exposed. Who else are the davids . They have actually created the kind of solution to a problem. And if it works what you have is a model for how you solve other problems when i say its raid is a systematic step that goes on every time an order enters the market. Its pennies. Spread out over the home market. Its up to you will never make money in the stock market. That is not the point. The market is charging. Investment dollars totally unnecessarily. Its a systemwide problem as an investor you almost should be more concerned about the instability caused by the rating. This is the it is not the pennies you use. Three months before the election she said im not a consensus politician. You can imagine saying three months before if you want to compromise and all that stuff focused somewhere else. I can see a creeping up into the american politicians on the certain republicans but have been trying to trim the sails and its difficult for many people to see what the Republican Party is about and we need principled. We need some kind of a conviction. The danger of that is people may not like the conviction. That is a risk you take but i think there are certain ways in which and she had incredible communications. They did have great communication ability and i think that was very attractive. So look at perhaps the next guest it says something about her leadership style.
