Grantham Sainsbury s donates tablets to Corby Glen school

A Grantham store has donated 16 tablets to a school to help pupils with their online education during the pandemic.
Sainsburyâs donated the tablets to Charles Read Academy, in Corby Glen, to help students with their home schooling.
The school says the kind donation means that all students have at least one device they can use to access live online learning from the school.

The academy says staff have been delivering live online lessons since the latest lockdown began and ensure that pupils receive at least five hours of lessons every day.
A number of Grantham area schools close following heavy snowfall

With heavy snowfall throughout much of yesterday, schools have closed their doors.
So far, five schools in the area have announced that they will be closed today (Tuesday), with more snow expected later on.
The Charles Read Academy in Corby Glen is closed for all students, with online lessons set to continue via Microsoft Teams.

Similarly, Corby Glen Community Primary School has closed due to heavy snow forecast throughout the day. All learning will be done remotely on Teams, Seesaw and Tapestry.

Pupils at a secondary school have received a donation of tablets to aid them in remote learning.
Staff at Sainsbury s and Argos in Grantham donated funds and used a company grant to help purchase tablets for the pupils at Charles Read Academy in Corby Glen.
Representatives from the stores visited the school on Monday last week (February 1) to hand over the 16 new devices.
