With Open Eyes follows five diverse Americans on their dramatic journey through Sudan as they experience the heart-wrenching conditions and intense suffering that the Sudanese people endure on a daily basis. The five - Frank Harrison, Charles Mack, Caroline Harrison, Daron Norwood and James Harrison - enter into the lives of the Sudanese people and relate their stories and the effect the stories and experiences have on them personally. From thousands of Sudanese displaced at a refugee camp, to numerous infants suffering from malnutrition, to soldiers firing 50 caliber machine guns, to the unending hope of a resilient people, the team of five witnesses the devastating results of this two-decade long conflict, observes the remarkable resiliency and hope that still exists among the people, and learns that truly anyone can help bring hope to the people.
