(Photo by Joshua Spaulding) ( click for larger version) February 17, 2021BENNINGTON While one of the southernmost mountains in New Hampshire played host to the Division IV boys alpine ski championships on Monday, Feb. 8, it was the northern teams that controlled the action. The Lin-Wood boys dominated the field, led by wins from Charles Loukes in both the giant slalom and slalom, to claim the Division IV championship, with Profile finishing as the runners-up. The Patriots edged third place Sunapee by three points, with host Derryfield just three points behind that. Littleton finished in sixth place and Woodsville finished in seventh place.

(Photo by Joshua Spaulding) ( click for larger version) February 11, 2021LINCOLN The final week of the regular season saw the Lin-Wood alpine team race at Loon Mountain for the first time this season. In fact, it was the first race of any kind held at Loon this winter and Lumberjack coach Aaron Loukes expressed his thanks for their assistance in making the race happen. Special thanks to Loon Mountain Resort and the Loon Race Team for helping put on the race, Loukes said. The day s competition included two runs of giant slalom in the morning and a run of giant slalom in the afternoon, with Profile, Gorham, Littleton, White Mountains, Moultonborough and Woodsville also taking part. The Lin-Wood boys took the overall win while the Lin-Wood girls finished in second place.
