Every year thousands come to Pinedale in July to celebrate the 1830s mountain men along the Green River in Sublette County. Back in 1833, only one man stayed sober. He was put in charge of the store and reported that for several days nothing sold except whiskey.
It was a wild shootout at Fort William. A family rivalry brewing for years had finally exploded into a full-blown war, and it all started on this date in 1834.
