An aggressive response from firefighters kept a fastmoving grass fire from growing out of control in santa rosa this afternoon. Kal fire planes, bulldozers swarmed the flames in sonoma county. It was under control in about an hour. No homes were threatened. Bay area air quality managers are asking homeowners not to set off their own fireworks. For the fourth time in five years, station 94 is closing its doors. Station 94 affects People Living in five cities, bethel island, nightson, brentwood, oakley, and byron. Reporter adding to the usual concerns of injury and fire, we now have a warning of faulty fireworks. A certain firework thats being manufactured. It has the potential to explode unexpectedly. Reporter important point here, the faulty fireworks in question would not qualify for sale at these safe and sane fireworks stands, theyre a bit higher firepower, but while authorities have zero tolerance for illegal fireworks, the public has a certain appetite for them.
