A man who admitted carrying out a violent attack on a person found lying in a Spalding street was jailed for eight-and-a-half-years on Wednesday.
Aldis Blumbergs was also sentenced to four years extended licence on his release from jail when he will also face deportation to his native Latvia.
Lincoln Crown Court heard police and paramedics were called to Cedar Court on the morning of February 5 last year after a badly injured man was found on the ground by a householder.

A man who admitted carrying out a violent attack on a person found lying in a Spalding street was today jailed for eight and half years.
Aldis Blumbergs was also sentenced to four years extended licence on his release from jail when he will also face deportation to his native Latvia.
Lincoln Crown Court heard police and paramedics were called to Cedar Court on the morning of 5 February last year after a badly injured man was found on the ground by a householder.

The identity of the victim was initially not known by the police for two weeks but was later established to be Uldis Krasoviskis.
Grimsby hospital A&E extension approved

Plans to extend Grimsby hospital’s A&E department have been given the go ahead.
North East Lincolnshire Council’s planning officers have approved Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Health Turst’s application to build a two-storey emergency care extension and new replacement hospital main entrance lobby for the Diana Princess of Wales Hospital.
The proposal will also see a new care parking deck above the existing main car park built, a new bus shelter and extra drop off points for the hospital.
The new Acute Assessment Units will be staffed by specialists in a range of conditions and illnesses, allowing patients to be seen and treated more quickly, often without the need to be admitted to a ward.
Addict jailed over 16k illegal images of child abuse

A Boston man who amassed a collection of thousand of illegal images after becoming addicted to downloading child abuse images was jailed at Lincoln Crown Court on Friday.
Howard Angel was arrested after police raided his home and took away a laptop computer.
Tony Stanford, prosecuting, said that the following day Angel went to Grantham Police Station and confessed.
“He said he had been stupid. He was interviewed. He was relatively frank. He said he wanted help.
“He said ‘I shouldn’t have done it but I did’. He said he became addicted and hooked on it.”
