Last week the members of the Missouri House gave approval to a piece of legislation meant to help young people who are not having their educational needs met by their local school. The legislation would create Empowerment Scholarship Accounts (ESAs) to give parents the option to send their kids to schools that may provide them with a better educational experience.

Montgomery County averaging 437 new COVID-19 cases daily in January During pandemic, county has had 49,257 confirmed cases Bethesda Beat Staff Report | January 7, 2021 Through the first seven days of January, Montgomery County has reported an average of 437 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 each day. On Thursday, 393 new cases were recorded, bringing the county’s total to 49,257. Five new confirmed deaths in the county were also reported. As of Thursday, 1,119 Montgomery County residents were confirmed to have died of COVID-19. There have been an additional 43 “probable” deaths, meaning the coronavirus is listed as the cause of death but it was not confirmed with a laboratory test.
