May I start off with a “Bad Dad” joke to break the ice? Yes? Thank you.
April showers bring May flowers. What do May flowers bring? (wait for it) PILGRIMS! There it is! Such a good joke.
I love the month of April and not just because it is my birthday month (the older I get, the less appealing the reminder of my age). April is synonymous with new life. We clean off the old, dead compost of winter and watch as new life begins to unfold. There is just something refreshing about new life and growth.
who’s listening, I wonder?
I heard of someone who had a plaque hanging up on their kitchen wall:
God gave us two ears and one mouth. He intends for us to do twice as much listening as talking.
Stop and Listen
How many times have you ended up in a shouting match? You’re so intent on getting your point across that you’re not listening to your wife or husband, or teenage son? You both talk over the top of the other. I think it happens in a lot in families where there’s too much talking, and not enough listening.
