Opening ceremonies outside Lethbridge s civic centre on Monday officially began a week of events based upon truth and reconciliation in the southern Alberta city.
Dressed in red and carrying posters, about a dozen people made their way through downtown Lethbridge on Tuesday to honour missing and murdered women, girls, two-spirited and LGBTQQIA people across Canada.
This Friday marks the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. However, organizations and groups across Lethbridge, including the city, were getting things started Monday.
Lethbridge celebrated National Indigenous Peoples Day on Tuesday with everything from Blackfoot songs and prayers, to traditional dancing and tipi raising.
