at about 10:00 local time, he went into oikos university and began shooting indiscriminately. police describe what is it looked like when they got here. take a look. when we got there, officers found several victims throughout the classroom, throughout the building. there were several people hiding in locked buildings, locked doors, behind desks, as you can imagine very frightened, very scared. some of them were injured, we had to rescue them out. we had to force our way into a number of rooms because they were locked behind doors. reporter: after the shooting, the suspect fled to a grocery store and confessed his crime to a supermarket worker. he was arrested in the parking lot of the grocery store a short time later. police do not have a motive, but, of course, the investigation continues. we know that seven people are dead, three more people are injured, they re at a local hospital, suffering from nonlife threatening injuries. wolf? dan simon, thanks very much. also

dan simon is on the scene for us and joins with us the very latest. what do we know about what happened and about the suspect? i take it he was a former student at this college? reporter: that s what we re hearing at this point of we re hearing that he was a form he nursing student who was either expelled from the school or dropped out on his own. we know that he is described as being in his 40s. an asian male and picked up at a local grocery store about 20 minutes away from here. any indication, dan, as to the alleged gunman s motive? any connection between this man and his victims? reporter: you know, that s the question that we re all asking at this hour. did he know somebody at that school? was he specifically someone at that school? if he was a former student, you would think that there was a purpose behind him going to that school this morning. but his exact motive at this point is unclear. he reportedly admitted he shot people at the college. is that right? r
