LOUISVILLE, Ky. Two days before horse racing's signature event, officials Thursday threw a horse out of the Kentucky Derby under a cloud of suspicion after two of his trainer's horses collapsed and died without explanation in the past week.
Trainer Saffie Joseph Jr has been suspended after two of his horses died in the lead-up to Saturday’s 149th Kentucky Derby. Parents Pride and Chasing Artie collapsed and died at the Churchill Downs track, with the cause of death still unknown.
