Several locals took to community pages on Facebook to share their frustrations and question what action is being taken by the municipality. They also inundated local councillors for a response. According to the City of Cape Town, its Water and Sanitation Department attended to urgent repairs of a leak on its 840 mm-diameter bulk-water main in the Firgrove area last Friday (15 January). The main apparently had to be switched off to enable the safe conducting of repairs. This affected the water supply to the Heldervue and Die Wingerd areas.
