what could be the largest municipal bankruptcy in u.s. history. good morning to you all. thank you for spending part of your weekend with us. i m t.j. holmes. we do need to start with a debate that was supposed to be over already. we are less than three days from a possible u.s. default. this clock is still ticking and a deal is not done. we are expecting a lot of action on capitol hill today. both houses in session, but whether there s going to be any real progress, that s anybody s guess. this is what we ve got going on today. the house starts debate at noon with the likely vote on a democratic proposal expected some time after 1:00 p.m. not expected to pass, however. then over on the senate side, they kick off debate on the democratic proposal around 1:00 eastern time. they could be debating that for up to 12 hours before they even vote on whether to vote. kind of a procedural vote would take place, possibly around 1:00 a.m. we did hear from president obama this morning
and there s that clock that we speak of. just under two days away from a time when we re told by the treasury, this country will not be able to pay all of its bills. so let me give you the rundown of what s happening today. the house gets to work around noontime today. that s just about two hours from now. after some debate, they ll vote on a proposal from senate majority leader, harry reid. that proposal is expected to fail. then on the senate side, they open debate on that same reid bill at 1:00 eastern time this afternoon. the debate there could go on for some 12 hours. now, it may not be until a lot of us are asleep that the senate gets to vote on that reid bill. the senate has moved on to the reid bill after deciding not to vote on the bill from house speaker john boehner. the nays are 210, the bill is passed. without objection to motion to reconsider is laid upon the table. what you re seeing there is that speaker boehner s bill actually passed. it finally passed th

she wants to scare up votes to reach out to voters in florida who moved from puerto rico, go from the territory and moved to florida. she s trying to send a signal to jeb bush to marco rubio, others in the republican race that if she gets the nomination, she s going to win florida in the general election. i sat down quickly here with marco rubio. he s having a rally in san juan. he said the temail trouble is getting worse. you start to see this is evolving from incompetence to mismanagement to potentially criminal activity. it goes back to the same point i made before. hillary clinton is a desperate candidate because she has a ticking time bomb on her hands when it comes to the e-mail scandal. now, another point of division, puerto rico is in $72 billion in debt. hillary clinton, president obama, and jeb bush, all want to see them file for chapter 9
