Good Samaritan Saves the Lives of Two Police Officers: Suspect Disarmed Officer Firing Two Rounds Narrowly Missing Two Officers and a Civilian

On Tuesday December 27th at approximately 12:40 p.m. Springfield Police Officers arrested 41-year-old Joseph Gonzalez near the intersection of Chapin Terrace and Chestnut Street. At approximately 12:25 p.m. Springfield Police Officers responded to the 500 block of Armory Street for a report of an armed robbery at the Metro PCS. The suspect, later identified as Gonzalez, is alleged to have pulled out a knife and then stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.
