An Afro-funk powerhouse, Cool Out Sun have their own formula for success

We chat to N’fa Jones, the Melbourne supergroup’s lead vocalist.
Cool Out Sun will headline Prahran’s Chapel Off Chapel on Friday March 26. The gig is part of Chapel Summer Sessions, an event series running until the end of March.
It’s also Cool Out Sun’s first full band performance since before the pandemic. The cross-cultural supergroup comprising vocalist N’fa Jones, percussionist Nui Moon and drummer/producer Sensible J will be using it as an opportunity to premiere new music.
Chapel Summer Sessions are back, featuring Nai Palm, Jerome Farah and more

Reinvigorating Melbourne’s local music scene one session at a time.
It’s not often you have the opportunity to pay witness to a wholly local event. So often, venues innocently forgo local artists and shows for something interstate or global. Chapel Summer Sessions’ 2021 edition offers a much welcomed initiative, with six Melbourne artists set to return to the stage, stripped-back and acoustic.
Located – as the name suggests – just off Chapel Street, Chapel Off Chapel humbly houses memories of legends, including Coldplay and Foo Fighters. The ethereal space is an intimate reprieve, a moment of bliss only doors down from the bustling epicentre of Prahran.
