tonight. reporter: tonight, in that chaotic press conference hey, stand by. i got it. reporter: we learn about the fateful decision not to breach that classroom door and end a massacre. from the benefit of hindsight, where i m sitting now, of course it was not the right decision. it was the wrong decision. period. reporter: texas top sworn officer saying the commander on the scene broke the basic rules of engagement when he decided the gunman was not an active shooter but a barricaded subject, holding dozens of officers b based upon the information we have, there wek.re children ina that classroom that were at risk, and it was, in fact, still an active shooter situation and not a barricaded subject. texas embraces active shooter training and that doctrine requires officers we don t care what agency you re from, you don t have to have a leader on the scene. every officer lines up, stacks up, goes and finds where those rounds are being fired at and keep shooting until the
thank you. i want to play some sound from andrew gillum earlier today just a few hours ago to press conference. take a listen. i am replacing my words of concession with an uncompromised and unapologetic call that recount every single vote. so i know you talked to the campaign and you talked to andrew. you talked to him today. i shot him a text today. what did you talk about? i just think his message that he stated was okay and it s on point. the fact is he s not asking for anything extra. he s not asking for there to be anything done out of the ordinary. he s asking for what happens in elections which is every single vote to be counted for. right. we ll see the lawsuits that are filed by the nelson campaign but andrew is just stating he s fighting for democracy and i don t see a problem with that at
think that andrew is kind of resolved to the fact that he may not come out on top on this but everything he s been fighting for throughout this campaign, you have so many new voters who are part of this process. they need to make sure they know their vote counts. i think sort of stating that in the press conference, this might not end up in his favor. it s a way of ensuring this process has integrity. if he ends up losing as a result of this, at least we all sort of saw transparenently what this h been about. there s a vast difference with andrew gillum s positioning and stacey abrams positioning. i think she s had to overcome more suppression than we ve seen in a long period of time and brian kemp oversaw his own race and he s the secretary of state responsible. which is mind boggling. thousands of voters off the voter roles a voter rolls. there s a different category but in georgia, arizona, and florida, democrats have to have the same message.
