were unacceptable in their party politics, or their committees. they set that precedent, not me, not anyone, dated. the party then went on to, really, put their money where their mouth was. they did not support king and his next race, a lot of money was raised for his challenger, a republican primary challenger, who defeated him in 2020. steve king, now, no longer in congress. of course, steve king s politics are the base of the entire republican party. like mushrooms, blooming on the stump of the tree, you can be rid of one steve king, with the conditions left in his wake producing more politicians like him. the environment supports them. so, now, you have the retired ex president who wants to run again. he is one person, who has views like steve king. but now, you also have more to the point, a caucus full of king aligned folks, including, notably, marjorie taylor greene, and paul gosar. well the democrats are in the majority in the house screen and gosar also engaged in
government that you control b the house, because each individual members of the house have very different incentives than what might aggregate together best, to put forward a national message. this is something both parties have dealt with. it seems in a cute case of that here. we could soon issues of blood extracted, and would know the ghost service, marjorie taylor greene s, the scott perry s, are going to play in this congress for republicans. we saw this coming years ago. and as kevin mccarthy continued to debase himself, in order to get power, and to say one thing out of his mouth one day, and something different when it was politically expedient for him another day. we saw that there was no low that he would not go to. so, from the very beginning, he room rendered himself an impotent speaker. we re looking at this, as he s empowered these people, who are against his own standard, as you pointed out, where he was so outraged about steve king,
it s hard to remember. donald trump has been the same since the 80s. the republican makeup of congress has gotten worse. more maga, more bigoted, during his tenure. there was a period of time, between 16, and 19, where the members of congress, mccarthy, and some of, them wanted their members to be able to get within arm s length of distance from trump, and from the kings of the world, because it may help them take back congress. so, they had these other incentives. meanwhile, they now have congress. the incentive is lost. the makeup of the members of congress have gotten much more maga between 2019, and 2023. so, for those two reasons, the incentives are totally different. mccarthy has lost control of his own conference. the jim jordans, the marjorie taylor greene s of the world, all have the power. he has no ability to hold up his standard, from 2019. tara, it can be hard to have, for any political party, to have your one branch of government that you control b the house, because ea
