A local community organization is breathing a sigh of relief, and a homeless elderly couple will now have shelter, after a stolen trailer was recovered Thursday.
Daniel Barth, executive director of Safe Organized Spaces-SOS! Richmond, an organization that aims to establish safe and secure living situations for unsheltered individuals in the city, said the trailer had been donated and was destined to provide housing for Amilee Smith and Marquise, a married couple with physical disabilities who have been residing in a pickup truck at Rydin Road.
But then on Wednesday, Barth said he was devastated to discover the trailer had been stolen at Chanslor Avenue and Murdock Street.
