3日上午彰化縣社頭鄉一處織襪原料廠發生大火，由於現場堆置大量易燃物，警消獲報一共派出六個消防分隊，火勢很快在半小時內撲滅，所幸無人傷亡，陳姓業者表示，一開始有聽到鞭炮燃爆聲，後來就聞到燒焦味，應該是附近稻米即將採收，農民施放沖天爆驅趕小鳥，沖天炮不小心衝了進來，才發生火警，消防人員表示，這起事故無造成人員傷亡，但詳細的起火原因還有待火調人員調查。

\n 陳姓紡織廠老闆表示，他們工廠在做紡織原料，早上所有同仁都在工作時，先是聽到碰的一聲，沒多久就傳出燒焦味，跑出去察看就看到沖天炮掉在工廠外的雜物堆裡，沒多久產生煙霧，所有同仁開始救火，但是已經來不及，因為現場堆放很多棉屑，火勢一發不可收拾，連汽機車都來不及救出。
