曾建党是常德市汉寿县人，他的“建党”来自其父亲的“感念党恩”。 曾建党的父亲曾云高是一名会计，一手算盘绝活十里八乡闻名。1950年，恰逢银行招工，“专业对口”的他顺利被录取。进入银行系统后，曾云高踏实肯干、勤奋上进，于1956年4月光荣入党。 入党的那一个月，曾云高喜得贵子，双喜临门的他为纪念这一“高光时刻”，决定为儿子取名“建党”。 曾建党在汉寿县工商银行的合影。 如今的曾建党，已退休在家。 在常德市澧县，有一个潘建党，他的“建党”来源于自己的奶奶，“不要忘记共产党的恩情！”自此，这一份殷殷嘱托，他用一生来作答。 1987年，高中毕业的潘建党成为了常德市广福桥煤矿的一名煤矿工人，因为踏实肯干，三年就被提拔为副队长。但潘建党做副队长还不满一年，就因工作需要，调入常德市矿山救护队�
