Many organisations have been protesting near Suvarna Vidhana Soudha demanding the formation of Chikodi district in Belagavi. The Chikodi Zilla Horata Samiti has been leading the protest in front of Mini Vidhana Soudha in Chikodi for the past three days. The leaders demand the government to declare Chikodi district for the benefit of the people and region's development.
The winter session of the legislature will be held from December 4 to 15 at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha (SVS). Adequate accommodation, drinking water and food are being arranged for the 5,000 policemen assigned to provide security for the session.
