Professor JM Chandra Kishen from Indian Institute of Science (IISc) provided detailed insights into the condition and improvements made to the flyover. He stated, “Initially, we observed that the cables were rusted, leading to a weakening of the structure. To address this, we took corrective measures by laying additional cables to reinforce it.”
Dr Chandra Kishen JM, Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, IISc, told BM, “Work is ongoing now, but there were multiple issues on the way. The work is getting delayed due to the small workspace inside the bridge, making it difficult to insert the new cables. Rains also posed as a difficulty in work. After work is completed, we will allow full traffic.”
