March is a beautiful time of year, folks. The weather gets warmer, the clocks give us all an extra hour of sleep one weekend, St. Patrick’s Day is St. Patrick’s Day…And starting with Selection Sunday, college basketball goes bananas. It’s March Madness time, baby, and it’s back.
The teams are picked, the first weekend is set, Duke wasn’t invited (hooray to all the haters), and the largest single elimination death tournament of its kind is about to kick off once more. Let’s dive into the madness.

th-seeded Villanova on Friday, Mar. 19. Tip-off is set for 9:57 p.m. on TNT inside Farmers Coliseum.
The Eagles are coming off a historical season, posting a 23-1 overall record and winning a second-consecutive Big South Championship title. The Eagles 17 Big South Conference wins is a conference record. The Eagles opened the season 16-0, winning 21 consecutive games, dating back to Feb. 27, 2020, which a one time was the longest active streak in the NCAA DI.

Other times, a major conference team gets hot to reach the Sweet 16 and beyond despite being seeded outside the top four lines.

After clinching the automatic bid last season and not being able to go to the NCAA Tournament because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Eagles dominated Campbell to clinch another bid to the big dance, 80-53.
The Camels were able to take the lead out of the gate, but it wouldn’t last much longer. They tied the game back up at 10-all at the 14:42 mark, but didn’t score a field goal for the next 7:30 off the game clock. Winthrop went on a 10-2 run, taking a half-high 20-12 lead heading into the under-eight media timeout.
