Johnathan Carroll, 38, was pronounced dead at Palomar Medical Center late Friday afternoon, shortly after the shooting at Bear Valley Parkway and Encino Drive, according to the Escondido Police Department.
The Escondido Police Department said the handgun the suspect fired in the gun battle was an untraceable "ghost gun," and said he had two more untraceable.
