they re calling the junk shot which involves shooting golf balls, tires, rubber, cement into the leak. talking about golf balls and tires. what really started happening is the whole country was trying to plug that hole. it became very apparent that bp really didn t know what they were doing. people on the coastline obviously in louisiana, mississippi, alabama and florida are very concerned, but we can tell you, because we took a 3 1/2 hour boat ride to get out here, that the oil is still at least 35, 40 miles away. we were fearful this oil was going to come to shore. we heard reports oil had reached land in the chandelier island. the first oil we saw on land, we anticipated there would be a lot more to come. remember, the first couple of weeks, there was no real sign of oil coming ashore. but until you actually see it, i think a lot of people didn t really seem it didn t seem real. there s a thick layer of crude oil over this entire part of the wetlands.

happening, all at one time. and i guess all i would say is it s about time. anderson? i mean, the oil hasn t penetrated as deep into the wetlands as some had feared early on and that s because mother nature has not pushed it in. if a big storm comes, that s one of the concerns that the big oil slick that is still out there would be pushed inland. there is no question that if we had a hurricane over here, that the wind would come in and blow the oil right into either the mississippi sound, the chandelier island or all the way into the wetlands. and that s because it would be coming in this direction and blowing the hurricane at 125 miles per hour. nothing like that out there. so that s a the good news is, this doesn t exist yet and so far mother nature is cooperating. i know it s supposed to be a busy season. so far, so good. yeah, let s keep our fingers crossed for the next two months watching the hurricanes.
