BHOPAL: Violence during the rallies taken out by right-wing organizations in western Madhya Pradesh to raise funds for the Ram temple in Ayodhya has left members of the Muslim community shaken.
Police remained mute spectators even as places of worship were targeted and houses were set on fire in Indore, Ujjain and other areas in the last week of December, community members alleged.

Indore authorities partially demolish 80 houses a day after communal clashes: Report

The district administration of Madhya Pradesh’s Indore city on Wednesday started demolishing parts of around 80 houses along a road in Chandan Khedi village, a day after communal clashes took place in the area,

As the Congress raised questions about the timing of the demolition, the district authorities clarified that it was done to widen the roads. “We have started removing 10-ft-wide portions of around 80 structures situated on either side of the lane for widening of a road in Chandankhedi village,” Pratul Sinha, the sub-divisional magistrate of Depalpur Tehsil, told

Bhopal: In the last four days, villages in Madhya Pradesh have been witness to incidents of communal violence, all of which broke out during fund collection rallies for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
All processions were led by rightwing organisations from state’s Malwa-Nimar region, a stronghold of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the nerve centre of electoral politics in Madhya Pradesh.

BHOPAL: Seven persons suffered injuries after a procession taken out by saffron outfits to seek donations for Ram Temple at Ayodhya was allegedly attacked by people from a particular community in Chandan Khedi village of Indore district on Tuesday.
This is the second such incident in BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh within three days.
Earlier, on December 26, a similar procession being carried out by saffron outfits had come under attack in Mahakal police station area of Ujjain, after which eight persons, including two women, were arrested and the house from where stones were pelted, was demolished as part of the ongoing anti-mafia drive in the state.
