The Ministry of Health has put an end to the sale and promotion of infant formula at health facilities. Despite companies wanting to distribute the formula to disadvantaged mothers under the guise of charity, the ministry firmly rejected their requests.
A group of 21 families, whose children were affected by the false claims of the distributors of baby formula Nutrilatt, have asked Minister of Justice Koeut Rith to encourage the Court of Appeal to expedite the proceeding of their case.
The Ministry of Health and nutritional institutions have expressed concern about a decline in breastfeeding that corresponds to an increase in the number of women in formal employment, and urged companies to establish more facilities for breastfeeding mothers.
