However, the Clean Green Beautiful cleanup challenge will last until November.
Last year, more than 3,000 bags of litter were removed and the organization aims to break that record.
“We have already received an unbelievable number of orders for our litter bags, and our social media tags are brimming with photos and stories of the many cleanup efforts that are already underway,” Hariett Madigan, chair of Clean, Green, Beautiful North Bay, said in a statement.

Over 1,200 donors supported the campaign to help secure a Grand Prize!
For the third year in a row, LifeBridge Community Services has won a Grand Prize from Fairfield County’s Community Foundation for securing the highest number of unique donors during the Foundation’s annual Giving Day campaign. In total, LifeBridge raised over $80,000 to support youth programming and behavioral health services for children and families in Bridgeport.
