Timmons is facing multiple charges. Including resisting a public officer with a firearm. Attacking a Police Animal. And damaging and destroying state property. Mistreating a Police Animal is a felony and is punishable with prison time and up to ten thousand dollars in fines. Two weeks ago today the Emergency Call Center for Las Vegas Metro police failed and today its still not known what caused it. Callers endured dropped calls and long wait times. And this failure comes just two months after a multi million upgrade to the 911 system. Fox 5s Cyndi Lundeberg has more on how the department is trying to prevent this from happening again. Metro says they dont know exactly what caused the six hour crash but believe it had to do with a surge of data which flooded their system and metro forwarded calls to North Las Vegas and henderson during the outage. That surge of data. Came from inside the department. Meaning employees plugging in their cell phones or usbs to the computers handling the 911 calls. Metro says they can rule out a hack. And add despite the crash theyre confident in the system. Even though we do not know a definitive reason for the destruction of service we do have enough information to better prepare against any future failure of the system simply put our system is stronger as a result of a thorough look into this matter. Metro did just install this new 911 system in december it cost two point three million dollars. As for how many calls were made during the all that data was lost.
