With over 150 people in attendance, in person at the Ridges and virtually, the following individuals and businesses were recognized through chamber awards: Professional Growth – Jenna Moran; Chamber Champion – Dale & Pam Bowden; Community Spirit of the Year – Tami Kasten; Entrepreneur of the Year – Roberts Physical Therapy & Brett Roberts; Shining Star –Wisconsin Rapids Community Theatre; Ambassador of the Year – Ann Grinder; Citizen of the Year – Fred J. Griesbach; Homegrown Product or Service – ColdSnap Aquaponics; Innovative Business of the Year – ND Paper; Regional Economic Impact – Solarus; Business of the Year – Wisconsin River Orthopedics.

It was a one-night event combined with the Chamber Annual Banquet. It featured local restaurants and caterers with a sampling of their best dishes accompanied by live music. The Annual Banquet and Taste of Liberty is where the Business Leader of the Year, Civic Leader of the Year and Businesses of the Year are honored. The membership nominates chamber businesses and chamber community members and the winning awards are announced at the banquet

Brunswick University Center turns 10 years old Updated Jan 11, 2021; Facebook Share In September, in the midst of the pandemic, Dr. Jenneffer Lopez was named interim director. “I’m new to Medina County,” she said, “but not new to the college. I’m so excited to see in-person classes begin here again.” Jenneffer Lopez, interim director of the Brunswick University Center. (Photo Courtesy of Jennifer Lopez) A resident of Cuyahoga County, Lopez had been a project manager in the college president’s office and hopes to continue in her current role starting with the spring semester. The Brunswick University Center has been unusually quiet, as classes went remote for the fall semester. The staff of the center has been reorganizing to provide social distancing and safety precautions. Student ambassadors have been on hand to help people who stop by for information.
