Area state lawmakers said they are still working to help furloughed Remington Arms workers as the new owners wait on a Federal Firearms License before they can reopen the facility in Ilion.
Remington came up during a question-and-answer session at a legislative roundtable discussion on the economy and state budget Wednesday, hosted by the Chamber Alliance of the Mohawk Valley.
“It’s going to be a process,” Assemblyman Brian Miller, R-New Hartford said.
Miller, whose district encompasses Ilion, said the process for acquiring the firearms license is still ongoing. Miller also stated he had written letters to federal representatives on the matter.
