∫ The Alpena-Montmorency-Alcona Educational Service District Board of Education’s Facility Committee is recommending the district get a second opinion from a second architect about the scope of work needed for the roof at Pied Piper School.
District officials are currently working with Livonia-based architects OHM Advisors and construction manager Wolgast Construction to address heat loss from the building, which has led to some leaks in the school’s roof.
Committee Chairman Nick Brege told the AMA ESD Board of Education last week the committee started a list prioritizing some of the upcoming projects at Pied Piper School.
AMA ESD Superintendent Scott Reynolds told the committee he is considering a new facilities director position for the district. The position would lead the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the district’s facilities maintenance and operations.
