ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Javed Iqbal has said that the corruption breeds injustice, poverty, undermines social, economic norms of societies and sullied the countries around the world.
In a statement, he said that NAB being the focal agency of Pakistan under the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) was determined to weed out this scourge of corruption and make Pakistan corruption free by adopting ‘accountability for all’ policy.
NAB being the apex anti-corruption agency and mandated to eliminate corruption, corrupt practices, was operating through a three pronged strategy of Awareness, Prevention and Enforcement. ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Javed Iqbal on Sunday directed the bureau’s investigation officers to complete all inquiries and investigations on merit and in light of concrete documentary evidence.
“Mega corruption cases of the big fish are being brought to logical conclusion through vigorous prosecution as per law so that the looted money of billions of rupees could be recovered from corrupt elements and deposited in the national exchequer,” he said.
According to a press release, the NAB chairman said that the anti-graft watchdog would not come under any pressure or threat but discharge its duty to eradicate corruption.
