DC Srinagar constitutes Committee to prepare database of patients suffering from Terminal diseases

May 15, 2021 As per the order, the Chairman DDMA has said that the step has been taken in wake of surge in number of positive cases in Srinagar district and as the major focus has presently shifted to COVID-19 mitigation and management. “However proper health care of patients suffering from terminal diseases is to be accorded priority as well”, he added. The DDMA Chairman’s order also added that a mechanism was needed to be put in place so that medical condition of such patients may not deteriorate further. The order also stated that the DDMA Srinagar has taken the initiative to ensure that Cancer patients who are on Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy, Renal failure patients who are on dialysis, Cancer patients dated for surgery, Children who have schedule for immunization, besides Patients who underwent Emergency Orthopedic surgery for follow up, need to be taken care of and to make sure that timely access to treatment for such patients is guaranteed.

COVID-19: DC Srinagar Notifies Five More Localities As Micro Containment Zones

SRINAGAR: Chairman District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Mohammad Aijaz Asad, who is also Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar on Saturday evening declared five more areas as Micro containment Zones in the district. According to the news agency KNO, the five Micro Containment Zones include Umarabad 90feet road umer Hair Bachpora near masjid usman, Nowhsehra main stop near Hubbi masjid, Bhagat near Jamia Masjid, Batmaloo PCR near Jamia Masjid and National institute of Technology Hazratbal. The areas were notified as Micro Containment Zones after detection of many COVID-19 positive cases in these areas today. “People living within radius of 50 to 75 mtrs from reported areas shall restrict their movement as medical teams complete surveillance and testing as per protocol,” DC said in a fresh notification issued in this regard

Official warning against walking on icy Dal Lake

  Srinagar: Due to freezing temperatures many water bodies in the Valley, including the world famous Dal Lake, have frozen. Aamir Ali, Nodal Officer State Emergency Operation Centre, Srinagar, said that moving on this thin layer of ice, particularly on the Dal Lake, is very risky and can result in slips, falls, fractures and fatal injuries. He said that when the thickness of ice is less than 4 inches, it is very unsafe to walk on it and the ice can break, resulting in drowning. He said that there are many springs inside Dal Lake and the ice is very thin at these spots and it’s difficult to spot these locations while walking or playing on the ice surface. He said that Mr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, District Magistrate/Chairman District Disaster Management Authority, Srinagar has issued an advisory to dissuade people from walking, playing or moving on frozen Dal Lake, as it is unsafe, dangerous & potentially life threatening and that action will be initiated against anyone trying to
