COVID restrictions tighten for casinos after Gov. Charlie Baker announces new capacity limits on businesses

SPRINGFIELD The number of gamblers allowed on the gaming floor at MGM Springfield and the state’s two other casinos will be capped at 25% of the fire code capacity under new COVID-19 rules approved Tuesday by the state Gaming Commission.
The Gaming Commission approved new limits at an emergency meeting held after Gov. Charlie Baker announced the state will reduce capacity limits to 25% for “most industries.” The state is also reducing the number of people allowed to gather outside to 25. For indoor gatherings, including for events, that limit is 10 people.
