Chaffee Arts is proud to announce that Bread + Salt is now exhibiting local art for sale in the restaurant at 418 U.S. Hwy 24N in Buena Vista.Â
Chaffee Arts members submitted their art to Bread + Salt and the first group was chosen for display of paintings and photography.
Contact information for artists are displayed with each piece and purchases can be made directly with the artists.
The four artists that are displayed in the first rotation are Lyndsay Bertram, David Billesbach, Karen Boggs Bryant, and Joe Lothamer.Â
Thirteen artists responded to the Call for Artists and their art will be displayed on a rotating basis throughout the year.Â

Chaffee Arts is proud to announce the 2021 Evelyn Gottschall Baker Emerging Artist Grant award winners Jade Baron and Loriana Cassidy of Just Adventure Art.Â
Seventeen-year-olds Baron and Cassidy live in Salida and co-founders of Just Adventure Art, a not-for-profit focused on raising money through art sales for coalitions focused on inclusivity in the outdoors.Â

They work in mixed media art and they hope that their site becomes a great resource for other young artists to sell their work.Â
 The Evelyn Gottschall Baker Emerging Artist Grant was founded in 2019 and funds the qualifying amateur artistsâ membership in Chaffee Arts and entrance into the Chaffee Arts Open Awards Show.Â
Chaffee Arts announced it will be staging its open awards art show at the Heritage Museum Courthouse Gallery Aug. 21â29. Â Admission to the Heritage Museum will be free during the showâs duration. Â
Teresa Booth Brown will judge the art show. She had been scheduled to judge our 2020 show that was cancelled due to the pandemic. Â
She is an artist and teacher best known for her use of collage in oil painting, mixed-media drawings, and printmaking.
Strong color, abstracted imagery, and architectural geometry distinguish her work.Â
Booth Brown studied at Reed College, the Museum Art School, and Bennington College; and continues a teaching tradition that helps artists identify and develop unique and individual directions in their own work.
