Celebrate the Light of the World will be celebrating its sixth year at Robbins Island Regional Park in Willmar, running from Thanksgiving through New Year's Eve.
The Toys for Tots campaign in Kandiyohi, McLeod and western Stearns counties is marking its 10th anniversary this year, while the national program, run by the Marine Corps Reserve, is marking 75 years of providing holiday cheer for children. In the region, it is shaping up to be a big year with coordinator Steve Gralish hoping to provide four to five toys per child.
Celebrate the Light of the World, the holiday light display started by Chad Koosman more than 15 years ago, will be celebrating its fifth year at Robbins Island in Willmar. The display begins Thanksgiving and runs through New Year's Eve.
Due to the frigid cold arriving in the region this week, the decision was made Monday to close the holiday light display Celebrate the Light of the World for the remainder of its run. The display was scheduled to be on nightly through New Year's Day.
